While the decline of bank branches has been predicted forever, it never
really happened. It's why I don't buy claims that banks don't care about small depositors, people who deposit their paychecks every month and spend them. They do care. They might care, in part, because they try to soak them with fees. But even without the fees they care. There aren't all that many large depositors, after all. There aren't that many in the 1%.
