krgthulu knows this, but to put it more directly, "Entitlement Reform" is only awesome if it causes more suffering. Pundits always lump together SocialSecurityAndMedicare because it's only the latter that has been projected to be a real problem. They still want to cut Social Security, and if it turns out the Medicare bill is no big deal, they'll still want to cut benefits. Because other people must suffer.
