An Iraqi oil official says an explosion has hit a fuel pipeline near the Syrian border in the second such blast since Saturday.
The official, who asked not to be identified, offered few details about the explosion and U.S. officials have yet to confirm the report.
U.S. military authorities are still investigating an explosion Saturday that set ablaze and shut down a key fuel pipeline 150 kilometers west of Baghdad, near the town of Hit. Numerous reports have blamed sabotage, but details of what happened are not clear.
Since Baghdad fell to U.S.-led forces in early April, efforts to restart Iraq's oil industry have been delayed by looting, sabotage and technical problems.
