I've got a term for the dilemma the neocons ran into when Chalabi was selling them on Iraq. It's not every day that a US administration gets taken for a ride by a crook and a convicted con man, and you have to wonder how they could have fallen for it all. Well, obviously it's because they really, really wanted it to be true - like the vast resistance network he had that would materialize once they disbanded the Iraqi army. I call this the Tinkerbell Dilemma: if they could only believe it intensely enough, it would become reality.
Ted Barlow previously linked the situation in Iraq and Peter Pan. Clap Louder!
