We should remember that Fred Thompson has indolent lymphoma, has received treatment for it, and such treatment
can reduce mental acuity. I'm not one who actually thinks that presidential health is all that important, and certainly don't think that such illness/treatment should in any way be a disqualifier. Still, given the attention paid to such things in other people it's a bit odd that no one seems to be discomfited by Fred's illness.
