I know that 8 years later it isn't the most important thing in the world, but is it too much to ask our elite press to stop pretending Bush
can speak Spanish. I know for most of us in the US the idea that anyone can actually learn a second language is so mindboggling that we're impressed if anyone can mumble a couple of words of another language, but the fact is that Bush cannot carry on any sort of conversation in Spanish.
