That's what people always say about life in the suburbs. I'm not entirely sure this is as true as people imagine, or that good urban living, if available, is as bad for kids as they imagine, but for sake of discussion we can assume this is true. But most suburbs (they aren't all the same, of course) really aren't such great places for teenagers.
Lack of mobility and public spaces where they can hang out and congregate are a problem.
