There's inevitably something a bit self-centered about discussing the history and archives of the suckiest blog ever. I don't mean it to come across that way, as this blog has always been a conduit for the zeitgest, a reflection of its community, and generally a hopefully timely synthesis of just what the hell is happening right now. (Almost) 8 years is a long time, and every now and then I stumble across an old regular elsewhere on the internets, or a now mostly-defunct blog that I used to read regularly but had mostly forgotten about. The sheer quantity of voices on the internets makes it impossible to remember them all, but I appreciate the occasional reminders. Lefty blogs, netroots, whatever we're calling them, have always been a community thing, not just of bloggers but of readers, commenters, etc.
