I actually think George Bush believed in the whole "freedomanddemocracy" thing, though I'm not sure his understanding of that concept bore any relationship to the way most of us understand it. But the fact that the press bought that bullshit from the administration for years, despite it
being obviously ridiculous, was maddening.
