Going with an earlier black comedy this time: Catch-22. It doesn't quite succeed in providing a full portrayal of the novel, but I like it much more than critics generally did. It's worth seeing for the performances by Alan Arkin, Bob Newhart, Orson Welles, Buck Henry, Anthony Perkins, etc...
