I think our system of state liquor/wine sales is ridiculous, but it isn't so simple to change it.
Privatizing it will have massive impacts on numerous stakeholders (positive or negative, depending on how it's done and which specific stakeholders we're thinking of). That isn't necessarily an argument against it, but it is an argument for thinking of how to compensate the affected who include current restaurant liquor license holders, current beer take out shops, civil service employees, beer distributor operators, etc....
