Here's Echidne on the thugs refusal to reauthorize the
Violence Against Women Act. Whenever I hear a rationalization that some awful deed must be done to save "women and children" I figure we're well and truly fucked. This brouhaha completely justifies my gut reaction. We are well and truly fucked while these guys have any power.
