It was always obvious that the health insurance company welfare plan Obama presented us with, originally hatched by the Heritage Foundation to head-off the huge popular push from Americans to get a decent health care system (and instituted in Massachusetts as an industry bail-out by Mitt Romney), was not going to be the improvement the administration said it was going to be. Some supporters, determined either to trust Obama or just doing propaganda for him, insisted that the PPACA would be a step on the way to single-payer, although nothing in the plan appeared to have that potential.
What it did have obvious potential for was the Third Way plan to privatize the system. That seems to be working out for them. A great victory for the likes of Joe Klein.
