No real deep thought for a Friday night, but it's useful to occasionally think back to how us oldheads got "news" back in the day. Mostly it was in discrete daily chunks, with CNN starting to add in a bit of the flow of continuity at some point. Read a bit of news, and there wasn't really any way to have any suggestion about what it really meant. Then, even more than now, the story behind the story was often the more important one but most of us mere mortals had no access to that.
