I'm sure we all frequently play the "yes I was wrong, but given what was known at the time I still made the right call..." game to some degree. I won't deny that I'm capable of it. But the difference is I just spout nonsense on this baby blue blog. No one has actually put me in charge of running key parts of the world yet. I'm not saying that exonerates me when I get things wrong. My "job" is, to some degree, be "right" or at least point in the right direction. But ultimately the key to being truly serious is never really admitting
that you blew it, especially when it's other people who suffer the consequences.
