I usually manage to avoid this kind of mindreading, but, hey, what the hell. I get the sense that Jim Webb took his ball and went home because despite not having anything resembling an actual working political campaign everyone was supposed to ooh and ahh and hand him the nomination. Apparently Craig Crawford (!) was his communications person who no one ever actually managed to communicate with. Anyway, the fantasy of announcing you're running for president and being at eleventy gazillion % in the polls is nice, but it's a fantasy. Running for president is hard work, or at the very least you need to hire people who are going to do some hard work.
