It is puzzling why the Republicans have decided on an "Obummer Supreme Court nominee doesn't even deserve a hearing" strategy. I'd think pretending to go through the motions, finding something mildly embarrassing, and then more in sorrow than in anger having to regrettably reject their nomination would make more sense. That would be bullshit, too, but bullshit within the norms.
