I've been reading various stories about this for a
couple of months or so. I can't quite figure out (from the news reports that I have read) just what is the barrier to fixing (or trying to) it? "We" (the US) seem to be very concerned, though I haven't seen that we're so concerned that we're offering to pay for it. Maybe I've missed it.
