It wasn't always like this, but for the last few years the pedestrian crush in Midtown hasn't been merely annoying, it's been unsafe, with sidewalks so crowded at times that people end up getting pushed out onto the streets at times. And if one does the MATH one realizes just how few cars, and therefore few people in them, are driving down those streets. Finally some sidewalks
will be widened, and it's nuts that this didn't happen before.
