Matt Bruenig says, it's a bit weird to focus on jobs that we always need when talking about a Jobs Guarantee which is designed in part to provide jobs during recessions. I'll also add that that the list of these types of jobs hits the sweet spot of "jobs we all agree are important" and "jobs we think require no skills whatsoever to do." I don't agree with the second one, but it says a lot about how we "value" child and eldercare positions. Anybody can do them!
