I get that the House isn't going to haul in My President or members of the Cabinet, but this idea that all subpoenas are really just a friendly negotiation between the House and the administration has been absurd. If you can't haul the Cabinet Secretary in, you haul in the people who work for them. If you're arguing you can't even do that, then you're arguing that Congressional subpoenas are just a polite myth, a bit like the tooth fairy. And, hey, ok, but...
