Lots of mistakes were made, and not just limited to Trump or Republicans or the United States, but the amount of suffering and death and, yes, economist cost, that would have been avoided by simply "shutting down a bit more a bit earlier a bit longer." Probably a cycle of closing and opening was inevitable (right or wrong), but each time, just a week earlier and a week longer...
