I don't expect anybody to have sympathy for anti-vaxxers generally (and I don't, though I do differentiate somewhat between the Own The Libs types and the genuinely conned), but I do sympathize with the general impulse to seek out alternative treatments. Our medical system is imperfect and expensive, people often don't find help for chronic conditions, and it is easy for common
pathologies to be exploited.
