Not On The Payroll

One can make arguments about how Biden and his guys are playing a careful game with Gaza, and doing so PERFECTLY (I am not interested in having this particular argument at the moment), but it actually isn't my job to be an unpaid spokesperson for the State Department and pretend that the gibberish that is coming from Blinken somehow makes any sense.

Pretending things are something other than they are might be necessary for diplomacy, but everyone with a blog or a twitter isn't on the diplomatic team.

When Israel's "defense" involves bombing the shit out of civilians, you do have to choose.

Maybe it's Blinken's job, but it isn't my job to pretend Israel isn't doing what its leaders keep saying it's doing.
