It is odd that being an "institutionalist" is seen as something praiseworthy, at least when it comes to GOP Daddy jobs like DOJ, the FBI, the military, etc. The implicit assertion is that these institutions deserve to exist outside of Democratic accountability, and that the people who run them should put the interests of the institution above other considerations.
This is obviously bad and dangerous!!!
