well to this and, yes, sure, turn your lights off if you don't need them, but failing to do that sometimes is likely a miniscule contributor to excess use. Once lights were a sizeable portion of your electricity use, and now they aren't. Running an LED bulb for a month solid is about .3kWh, and one dryer load is about 3kWh. An incandescent bulb running for a month is about one dryer load.
