Gaffes and Zingers

My sense is that the presidential debates have become so meta that we have a spin room for the spin room for the spin room. They have to be aimed at the pundits who will choose their clips and give their verdicts and create the narrative.  

Sure some people just watch - good for them! - and manage to draw their own conclusions, but there's an army of surrogates out there trying to pre-spin and post-spin what happened to the ostensibly neutral "journalists"  so the event itself barely needs to happen.  Journalists are just checking boxes on their pre-writes and stuffing in quotes.

There has to be a better way. 

I will try to watch! I'm not sure how long I will last! I will read the transcript when it arrives, at least.
