The Office of Personnel Management told government agencies today that responding to an email titled “What did you do last week?” was voluntary for federal workers. The new guidance from the agency, which sent the message on Saturday, contradicted Elon Musk’s claims that any worker who didn’t respond would be thought to have resigned.
